Google Plus seems to be the new buzz word floating around social media circles, and you find your self wanting to get in on the latest and greatest social media tool but don't know where to start. simple media marketing solutions, google plus.

What is Google Plus: If you where to goggle "what is Google Plus" you would be given the short sweet answer of " Google Plus is a social networking platform for discovering and sharing digital content with friends, family, and coworkers." Sounds simple enough right? In truth Google Plus has so much more to offer and while at first glance it can seem rather intimidating, once you get your feet wet and start playing with all the features (which we will get to later on) you will find your self feeling right at home.

Getting Started With Google Plus: Google Plus is easy to set up, if you currently do not have a gmail account the first thing you are going to want to do is set that up. www.gmail.com
Once you have created your gmail account you will want to go to your Google Plus account. This is done easily by click the apps button in the top right corner of your gmail,Or you can log in at ww.plus.google.com

Google Plus Profile: The first thing you will notice when going to your Google plus page for the first time is that it asks you to fill out your profile. This is simple and pretty standard for all social media sites. After you have filled out all the questions, name, birthday, interest etc, you will want to put up a profile picture. You chose a photo from a random image you like online or from your own personal stash of selfies (we all have them, it's ok.)

GooglePlus Friends And Circles: Google Plus will then ask you to find friends, or even recommend some communities based on your interests. Much like being the new kid on the block if you want people to get to know you, you have to step out and go meet them. If you already have contacts in your gmail, Google Plus will ask you if you want to follow them and add them. When adding someone Google Plus will ask you to put them into a category, friends, family, acquaintance etc. This will help determine what content that you post each group will be-able to see. Circles is one of the core features of Google Plus, it allows you to organize people into groups or listing for sharing across all the Google products and services. When making circles you can pick and chose people from each group to then join said circle. This is done simply by dragging and dropping a person into the group you have created.

GooglePlus Hang Out: This Google Plus feature allows you to video chat with up to 10 people at once, sharing feeds, documents and conversations all at once.

+1 Button For Google Plus: The +1 button allows people to recommend sites or parts of sites, much like the Facebook like button. The amount of +1's a page or person has, has been correlated with higher search engine rankings.

Google plus Stream: In the "Stream" which you will see in the middle of the three columns on your page, is where you will find updates from those in your circles. There is an input box which allows you to enter a post. Along with the text entry field, there are icons to upload and share things like photos and videos. You can filter the stream to only show posts from certain circles as well.
